Storage and packaging: Silica gel has strong moisture absorption capacity, so it should be stored in a dry place, with a shelf between the package and the ground. Packages include steel drums, paper drums, cartons, plastic bottles, polyethylene plastic composite bags, flexible container bags, etc. Avoid rain, moisture and exposure during transportation.

Uses: Silica gel can be used as desiccant and can be reused. Silica gel is a kind of porous material with different particle sizes, which is dehydrated by silicic acid gel mSiO2·nH2O. It has an open porous structure, large specific surface area (surface area per unit mass), and can adsorb many substances. It is a good desiccant, adsorbent and catalyst carrier. The adsorption of silica gel is mainly physical adsorption, which can be regenerated and reused. Adding acid into alkali silicate (such as sodium silicate) solution to acidify it, then adding a certain amount of electrolyte and stirring to generate silicic acid gel; Or adding acid or ammonium salt to concentrated sodium silicate solution can also generate silicic acid gel. The silica gel is aged by standing for several hours, then the soluble salts are washed away by hot water, dried at 60 ~ 70℃ and activated at about 300℃, and the silica gel can be obtained. Silica gel was soaked in cobalt chloride solution, then dried and activated to obtain color-changing silica gel. When it is used as desiccant, it turns blue before absorbing water and red after absorbing water. From the change of color, we can see the degree of absorbing water and whether regeneration treatment is needed. Silica gel is also widely used in steam recovery, petroleum refining and catalyst preparation. Silica gel can also be used as a mobile phone case, which has extremely high anti-falling property.
